I have a very strange error, that seems to be reproduceable, that's triggered by some combination of AppleScript, Jon's commands and maybe a dot file or some other invisible file.
The result is a strange window appearing in finder with the title: Finder.out
And filled with some gibberish characters that include the word null, repeating over and over again.
Also, a black apple is added to the Finder menu, replacing the word "Finder" and the word "Finder" appears after the help menu and the first choice is About SIOUX. The file and edit menu are duplicated. (The About SIOUX menu does nothing).
The script gets a list of files in a specified folder on the network. Using Jon's Commands it downloads all the eps files it finds, deletes them from the network (also using Jon's commands) and tells Distiller to distill them. If distilling is successful it deletes the eps file otherwise it moves the file to an error folder. After a pausing 30 seconds the script checks the folder on the network again. (all the file copying, moving and deleting is done using Jon's Commands)
The error seems to occur when I can't see any files in the network folder, but the script does see a file (with the same name as one of the files it found earlier) and tries to process it.
Any suggestions or thoughts?
Ed
