'sips -i image-file' will set an image file to have a thumbnail image from the shell.

If there's a way to do this from Image Events via Applescript, I haven't found it yet.

But is there a way -- either in Applescript or in the unix shell - to find out if a thumbnail
image is already set ?

There is a Finder property 'icon' -- but that always seems to be 'missing value', even
when there is a thumbnail image displayed in the Finder.
