Title: AppleScript Studio Question

Hello everyone. I have an AppleScript Studio application that returnes a list for me and places it into a Text View window. I would like the user be able to select some of the text and then extract the selected text from within my application. The problem is, I don't know what script command would do this. I can't find the answer in AS Studio's PDF documentation. Can anyone help?
