Permanently deleting items with Finder.

My script creates a 16 bit /channel version of itself and saves in a folder called "converted" I want to permanently delete this folder at the end of my script without going through the trash. Is there a way to delete it straight out without going via the Trash or move it to the trash and delete exclusively this folder?
