I have already tried SQLGrinder, however I had trouble with trying to add ODBC/JDBC drivers. This is quite a common problem that I'm having. I also had this problem with Aqua data studio, they both talk about installing the following driver:

'sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver'

I have tried to get hold of this driver but with no luck, on some website people say that it comes with Sun's Java development kit but I can't seem to download this.

Anyone got this driver or could point me to a good place for it.

Cheers

David,
I am not sure about free, but SQLGrinder is certainly cheap and is supposed to have good scripting support. I have not tried it myself, but I would be interested to hear from someone who has.
For Quark to ODBC data transfers, we have been using Xtensions from emSoftware (Xcatalog). These are not exactly cheap, but they do get the job done. Also, the scriptability of the emSoftware has supposedly been greatly improved in the latest releases.
When we finally ditch Quark at my office (very soon), we will be using Indesign with XML to link all the data.
hope this helps,
Alex

My task, we have some catalogue data in an Access database and we
want to extract it into separate Quark files depending on the page.
Any ideas?

I have been searching for a solution for a couple of weeks now, I
have found demo software, ProSQL, however, the demo version has it's
limitations, firstly it will only extract the first 3 rows of
a table
and secondly, you are not able to see the commands for using it in
Applescript.

So...
Is there any good free SQL Query software that let's you connect to
an ODBC database?
Has anyone got the full version of ProSQL and does it work well with
Applescript?
Has anyone done the same task as I'm trying to achieve or something
similar
