I'm not sure, but I think to remember that pmset's output has been enhanced with 10.4.
Could it be that Mark is on Panther and you on Tiger?


Back to the drawing board, I guess. I wonder if the profiles, etc. are available elsewhere on your machine...


Perhaps the "Flags" info available from ioreg may be of some relevance for Mark's purpose:

   ioreg -w 0 -n battery | grep -A 3 '+-o battery'

In my case, and at this precise moment, Flags has value 1090519045 on AC, and 4 when running on battery.
