I think the use of the word "standard" is a bit hyperbolic here, but that's
beside the point.

The point is this: JDF is XML, nothing more. So, any XML tool is usable.

Yes, XML Lib, in its raw form or in the form of the Satimage XMLLib.osax
(which uses XML Lib) is useful to you if you want to play with the "new" JDF
for your print shop or publishing house.

XML, I suppose, can be considered a standard (even though there are plenty
of legitimate arguments against its use at all...many that I agree with)[*],
but the relatively limited software integration of the specific JDF
XML-based definition is important to remember when discussing ways to
manipulate XML in the JDF format.
