I have this script (Application) that is called by Cron every night. So far all that happens is that Smile is opened and the application is opened for editing.
So far if I run the script from smile it works fine. But not from Cron.

Is there something here that's not allowed?

Perhaps you saved it as a script, not as an application. I haven't used Cron, but this may make a difference. When you double-click a script, it opens for editing, but an application launches.
