Works fine here, Peter - so I guess the next thing to do is compare
versions (and perhaps see if anyone else can shed any light by
testing the script on similar configurations). For various reasons,
I'm lagging slightly on updates - so here's where I am currently:
System Version: Mac OS X 10.4.6 (8I127)
AppleScript: 1.10.6
iTunes: 6.0.4
QuickTime Player: 7.1.1
System Events: 1.3.1
Sporting my new matte black and glossy-screened MacBook:
System Version: Mac OS X 10.4.7 (8J2135a)
AppleScript: 1.10.7
iTunes: 7.0
QuickTime Player: 7.1.3
System Events: 1.3.1
;-)
I can't see how you can access *that* slider using AS.
The pitch shift and the playback sliders beneath it have no IDs,
names, numbers or any other form of identification that will make
them addressable - even with a UI kludge! Nothing in the dictionary
either :-(
Can report that the MacBook microphone is pretty good (especially
with ambient noise reduction) for snooping the daft conversations of
my fellow commuters on the train. From the Script Menu:
tell application "QuickTime Player"
new audio recording
start recording 1
end tell
