For the config parameters, we will have to wait for the Leif Öquist ones.

As Michelle Steiner is the one who needs help, I would have thought her data is of importance.
Summary: I was helped by Christopher Herbel and other participants of this forum to find a solution to what at first seemed to me as a problem (AppleScript running slow on Intel Mac's).
What remains from the context: Michelle Steiner can apparently not use the same solution/explanation to make her Intel machine run AppleScript as fast as should be possible. That is in my eyes the ongoing issue, and I suppose the explanation is in some way linked to Michelle Steiner's machine (and maybe the data she has showed).
Unfortunately I don't have much data concerning the HD:s and RAM:s on the machines in the mentioned tests to pass on (I have general information in many cases, but none about available HD space, active or non-active RAM, other running applications in the background or not, and such).
If Yvan KOENIG likes to have information about my latest mentioned run on my old home machine, a G4, it has about 800 Mb free HD space, and 192 Mb RAM, and a 350 MHZ processor. Even if I open 2-3 applications - including Photoshop and a picture file - it executes Michelle Steiner's test code (with command 'activate' added) in almost the same speed as before (it may be about 1 second slower occasionally) - i.e., still much faster than on Michelle Steiner's Intel machine.
I wish I could be of more help. But I'm convinced this forum will be able to help Michelle Steiner nevertheless. If comparable data from tests runned on other Intel machines is absolutely needed, I'm sure there is other people in this forum who can provide that together with much more knowledge and skills than I know of.

Leif Öquist
