Simpler: add person the_peep to group (item 1 of the_groups)

Thanks. I had forgotten about the "add" command in Address Book.

Actually, you haven't answered Bob's question, Michelle. He was asking : how
to add a particular person to several groups.

*sigh* I misread the question.

Here's how to add one person to several groups:

After reading that sentence, I tried to write a script to do that, and it turned out identical to yours.

(It looks like there should be another way, too, since group is an element
of person as well as vice-versa. But that's actually a sort of 'read-only'
element - which is not something that AppleScript ever tells you or knows
about - since you can't make a new group at a person;...

The error returned when trying to add a group to a person says that groups can be added only to groups. I didn't realize that a group could contain another group. I'm going to switch around a number of my groups because of that.
