You're right! I get the same thing, in Tiger. And in fact any format
changes appear in the next run of the script, without the need to
relaunch Script Editor. On my Jaguar machine, the default "U.K." format
is Weekday comma Month Day comma Year anyway - in System Preferences, the
menu bar clock, and AppleScript!
I ranted about OS 9's "International English" when it was foisted on us,
but I'll hold off seconding your own rant here - at least as far as
Tiger's concerned - as the inconsistency seems to indicate a bug rather
than any attempt at US imperialism. As long as I don't have to try and
land my G5 on Mars, it won't upset me unduly. ;-)
