You don't show your script. Any time someone writes a sort-of nasty message
like this and says "made the necessary edit"...you can bet they screwed up
their own script. Which you totally did.
I followed the link you gave, downloaded the text file containing the
script, opened it in Smile, changed _only_ my username, and the script ran
exactly as advertised -- in about 5 seconds.
You really need to provide a copy of your script if you want anyone to try
to help you. Just ranting (about someone else's script) is a terrible way
to win support.
And, back to your unfortunate opening...
Apple didn't write that script. Someone else did...and it works as they
said, OMM. Whatever YOU did to YOUR copy of the script screwed it up.
Finding scripts written by other people is not hard. There are many
hundreds of excellent scripts out there. What is a bit of work is actually
learning to write some AppleScript on your own, so that you could at least
edit someone else's script and not botch the whole thing.
