I didn't notice that the try-block solution was proposed yesterday,
but given that folks are still discussing alternatives, I'm wondering
if the OP finds it unsatisfactory for some reason, and if so, why.

I have a shocking memory for things.. The only reason I remembered
Shane's post was because I thought it was a good solution, good
enough to answer the question.. So how bout it Chris? did that sort
it out?
