Yep. And, as a user and not a programmer, but someone who has been
around programmers and played around with them for more than 20 years,
now (yikes!), I love these conversations! You guys slay me with your
hyperbole! No lie, folks, I almost posted yesterday about how fun it
is to listen to programmers moan about what language is best. I even
started to predict that PERL and COBOL would be brought up...with
people on both sides of the "greatest ever!" and "totally blows!"
sides of the fence. Wish I had, now.
Bottom line from this non-programmer's perspective, not that most of
you give a hoot...
AS works for small stuff and I don't have to spend hours to get it to
work. It has lots of ambiguity, which is sometimes annoying and
sometimes lets me more or less intuitively find the answer to my
problem. I wish documentation were even as complete as Excel formula
help. It isn't, most of the time. But it still gets little stuff done.
FWIW...not much with the deflated dollar and all.
Clint
PS - And the reason I get stuff done with it is because folks like you
are kind enough to share your expertise and are willing to point me to
the resources I need, when I need. Thanks.
