Hi Scott,
A book that I used/am using to learn Applescript is,
"AppleScript Studio Programming for the absolute beginner"
it can be found at the link below.....
http://www.chapters.indigo.ca/books/AppleScript-Studio-Programming-Absolute-Be-Jerry-Lee-Ford-Jr/9781598633030-item.html
It teaches applescript through the building of small games and
applications. It's 363 pages long and is a great starter.
You should know however that it teaches how to build an application
with Xcode and Interface builder using AppleScript,
not just Script Editor. There are also web downloads so that you can
look at all the files used throughout the book.
This book is the most recent one I could find, it was published
October 2006 by Jerry Lee Ford, Jr. (Published by Thomson)
There may be more recent ones now however.
Hope that helps.
-Kevin
