 it is impossible, using just AppleScript, to delete the temporary stuff created in a clean way.




The version I provided moved the temporary folder to the trash. An empty folder in the trash never hurt anyone.

But, if that's no good, just leave it in temporary items. Both Michelle's version and my version worked just fine if a folder with the same name already exists and, since it is a temporary items folder, it will disappear by itself the next time the mac is restarted (and, maybe the next time that user logs in, not sure about that). 

Either way, an empty folder in the temporary items folder is nothing to lose sleep over.
