What I found: The information is stored in the resource fork of the
file. I could create a resource fork by spitting out the proper bytes.
But since the documentation on
http://developer.apple.com/documentation/mac/MoreToolbox/MoreToolbox-99.html
tells me: "The information in this document is obsolete and should not
be used for new development., I'm asking: How then can I create the
proper information that's telling OS X what to use to start the file?
