If he had any *intent* he should have made it clear. Mr. S, you don't take
a list conversation off-list to someone -- who would reasonably think it was
still part of 'the list' conversation -- without explicitly stating "off
list" or some other kind of early-in-the-text notification.
That's just list etiquette *precisely* to prevent that kind of "oh, I
thought it was public" kind of possibility.
The fault is yours, not Rachel's.

If you think the topic was "beaten to death", then why are you still going
on about it privately (to someone who thinks you're talking to a group, no
