Dropping a print job onto a folder to initiate the printout is quite possible.
If the application you are using is attachable (i.e. attach a script to an existing menu item) then it's also possible.
An alternative if the app isn't attachable is UIActions from PreFab but it costs $35.00. <http://prefabsoftware.com/uiactions/>
There may be other options but I can't think of any offhand.
