I'm afraid to ask.
Anyway - does the same URL that works in "Open Remote..." fail as the
target of an "open URL" AppleScript command? If so, that's a genuine
problem somewhere; if not, you've got the URL wrong somehow.
(It's easier to do than you think - this is why FileMaker 9 includes a
menu item that creates the URL to a shared database for you. If you've
upgraded, the URL that feature returns is the same URL you'd use in
FileMaker 7 and later, so you can use it for your testing.)
Also, technically, the syntax is:
> FMP7://[account:password@]ipaddress/databasename.fp7
with optional parameters in [brackets] and any spaces in database names
encoded not as " " but as "+" characters. See:
.php?p_faqid=5560>
So make sure that if your file is "My Database.fp7" that your URL ends
with "My+Database.fp7" and not "My Database" or "MyDatabase" or
"My+Database" (without ".fp7"), etc.
If you have the URL right, it should work anywhere, even in Safari's
address bar, so testing is a bit easier.
