The harm might be that you are unnecessarily diluting the richness of this list and at the same time making the life of subscribers harder than it should be. Who, besides you, is trumpeting politely or otherwise, a restriction of an apparent natural extension to the power of basic applescript. An extension that appears to have the support of a good number of contributors.


I'd suggest that you eat some of you own dog food and stifle the "not invented here" or "our [Ed's] way or the highway" attitude and let a novice lister [me] filter the content and embrace a solution that might involve something else I don't understand but gets the job done.
