Does anybody know why the Import folder is grey? I can seem to get to it programatically. The top mailboxes of the application show a mailbox "Import/ylan" which I can manipulate, but they never show a mailbox "Import". I believe that the grey icon is telling me something, but I don't know what.

According the help file in mail.app, it means that either the account is off line (I think this does not apply to POP3 mailboxes, though) or you do not have permission to read that mailbox. It doesn't sound like that's your case, though.

It doesn't seem to be the case. It seems to actually be a "dummy" mailbox because it can't contain messages, but it can contain other mailboxes. My problem is that I can find a way to reference it programatically (For other mailboxes I get all the mailboxes for Mail and cycle through them until I find the name I want).

I do know that I've gotten grey mailboxes when I've emptied a mailbox, but it still had sub folders with mail in them.

It didn't turn grey after deleting the mailbox inside it: It was grey since Mail performed the import.

(And another question: I am used when writting in lists, that when one hits reply, one is automatically replying to the list and not to the individual poster, but I think that all my previous replies to the list have gone to the poster instead, which was not my intention. Am I doing something wrong? How do you handle this?)

That's the way that the moderators of this list has set it up; we've complained about it, but that's the way he wants it to be.

I see. I can't imagine why.

The only way to handle it is to manually change the "To" addressee to the list. I go one step further and manually change the "Reply to" address to the list as well.

Nicely done. Indeed, when I hit reply, it replied to the list!

Maybe I should write a script to do it for me. <g>

Please share if you do!
