Many thanks for that Luther... a very simple and effective idea!
However, when I drop my test JPG file (screenshot of part of desktop,
"Picture 1.jpg) onto the app from within a test folder it neither turns
into the folder's background or moves into the hidden folder.
I tried a few different times with different folders and none of them are
working.

Yes. Create a folder; Put your graphic file into the folder; Set the
graphic file as the background picture for the folder and make the
file invisible; Put the folder into your application bundle; Your
application simply opens the folder.
