Hi,

Can't you use something like zigbee's. And insert those into the suits.
So far as I know there range is bigger and more precise in measurements.
Also you can add other things too, like temp measurements. They talk using an USB stick with the mac.


Because they are very small, thus better protected then a mobile, who can get empty or get lost in the heat of the fire. They also use so less current, you can feed them with small batteries.

Sometimes the firemen leave so fast that no-one is aware that they are at the fire ground.
