Anyone else think that Applescript in Leopard no longer works with Filemaker 5.5

It seems to me that I have just discovered to my horror that I can't
compile even a simple script directed at Filemaker.
It is as if the Applescript technology has changed enough that the
script editor can't communicate adequately with the Filemaker
applescript dictionary.
I just read something from Filemaker Inc. that scripting is broken and
will be part of their new fix but they are only fixing 9 and maybe 8.5.
So I'm wondering if it is true that going to Leopard means not being
able to script older filemaker systems.
