Pointers to documentation on scripting Notes 6.5.4.1

I've a need to write a script to extract data from a Notes database. However, I'm finding myself stymied by the lack of a dictionary for scripting it. It appears that Notes is using something akin to LotusScript, but there's not a 1:1 correspondence between the LotusScript API and the AppleScript interface to Notes. It's compounded by the fact that Notes seems to return handles to internal structures in Notes rather than objects (i.e., I can't simply view all the properties for a document, or fetch an array of fields and select a particular field from the list).

Any pointers would be helpful. I've gotten the only AppleScript examples from Lotus' site, but they all deal specifically with sending e-mails and fetching e-mails and you're basically out of luck when attempting to get data from another Notes database (in my case, our Corporate Directory).

Any pointers to documentation or examples would be much appreciated.
