Need to export data to another program

I am in the process if configuring data on temperature changes in my vacation home with modification to increase the use of passive heating and cooling.

To that end I have a computer that is running XTension and is tracking the temperatures in various locations and the ambient outside temperature.

In order to analyze the data I need to move selected data out of XTension and into Textedit. I has to be a push rather than a pull since there are so much data being written to the log.

I have been able to get the data I need to write to the log in XTension but I have no idea how to get it out to Textedit. When the temperature at any of my sites changes it writes to the log. If I could get a script that would move the same data to Textedit it would save me from looking at hundreds of daily logs with over 10,000 entries.

XTension runs on Applescript so have it run a script is not a problem.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Chuck
