folder actions

  • Subject: folder actions

I have a folder action set up that runs the script file that is dropped into it.

Basically it handles each file by reading it's contents and then using "run script" command to run..

My problem is that to read the file, and execute it successfully it needs to be run within a finder tell bloke.. (which isnt actually necessary)

If I run the script without the folder action

(remove the "on adding folder items to this_folder after receiving added_items" )

It runs fine without the finder tell bloke.. It's only when trying to use folder actions that it fails..

So I guess my questions are..
1) is there some other method I should be using to execute the script file that is added?

2) Is it possible that Finder would reduce the performance of the script? Should I simply not worry about this?

Thanks
