Here's the other news (partial quote from the Xcode list):

Here are some commonly-reported issues that are known with this release of Xcode.

• Much of the functionality new in Xcode 3.0 does not have AppleScript support.


IOW, if Xcode (with ~100 developers on the team), can't get its new improved AppleScript together, be prepared to see a lot of those "Descriptive Error Messages" because basically, AppleScript as we knew it has been sucker-punched by the Cocoamites.
