And that looks to be the case; this should do it:

on ApplyMaster(strMasterName)
    tell application "Adobe InDesign CS3"
        tell front document
            set CurrentPage to make new page at end with properties {applied
master:master spread strMasterName}
            set theIndex to index of CurrentPage
            override page items of page theIndex of applied master of
CurrentPage destination page CurrentPage
        end tell
    end tell
end ApplyMaster
