Thanks, Matt.  Sure, it's easy to write a map() handler, also apply()
and friends...it would be nice if there were a lambda analog so you
didn't have to create named handlers, but c'est la vie.

But as the OP in question, all I was *really* trying to do was make
sure that there wasn't already a built-in way to do what I was doing.
Having confirmed that, I really didn't need folks to submit a myriad
of possible ways of doing it myself.  Not that it's not fun to see
what people come up with. :)
