Image Meta data Question

  • Subject: Image Meta data Question

Is it possible to get Meta data out of a PhotoShop
file without opening the file? If so where do I look
to do it?

I tried to select the file and get it's properties
with AppleScript but non of the Meta data was listed.
Lots of information was available but not what I
wanted.

We need to add information like "Catalog Name",
"Spread Name" and so on to the file and then be able
to get that information out in order to process the
files with AppleScript. I was thinking of putting the
information into the "Keyword" field. I thought Meta
data would be the place but it doesn't appear to be.

The next plan - if this is not possible is to use a
FileMaker database and get the information. I would
use the PhotoShop file name as the key field. I was
hoping to avoid having open the file in PhotoShop or
go to FileMaker to get it.

Thanks for some insight here.
Oakley
