I'm still poking this with a sharp stick ...

I can avoid the -15266 error by creating the application bundle at its final destination. Creating the bundle in Temporary Items, then moving it to the final destination was done to get the icon to display in Tiger. This seems not to be a problem in Leopard.

But the application bundles I create now simply say "Could not run this script because of a program error." -5000 when I try to launch. In other words, DOA.

I know the handler that's causing this problem, but it's going to take awhile to dig thru all the steps to find the bad one. This is the handler that goes into the new bundle and changes names of files and writes to the Info.plist file. Leopard does not like something that was required, or at least desirable, in Tiger.
