And so we are back to another longstanding question: (POSIX file
"<unix path>") yields an object of class "furl", while ((POSIX file
"<unix path>") as file) is a "file specification"...
An curiosity, that word "file". In many scripts it implies that
whatever follows it is to be converted to an alias. But here, I
guess it should be looked at as UNIX_file.
And . . .
There are cases in real UNIX that require a trailing solidus to imply
a directory
scp $HOME/somefile FarAway:/home/me/
requires that last solidus because scp (secure copy) needs to know
that it should use the same filename as the source as opposed to
changing the name to "me" during the transfer and storing the result
in /home/ er /home. (That can really happen if directory me
doesn't exist.)
