Data detectors is an advertised feature of Leopard.

For instance, move your mouse over the word "today" in this sentence, or do it tomorrow, or maybe even yesterday. Try it on December 25, 2008 if you like. You might even want to move it over (800) 555-1212 or 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington, DC 20010, let alone email@hidden
