Sure. Since she's on 2008, AppleScript is the only answer (no VBA there).
Aside from a few bugs that were fixed in 2008, it's identical to 2004
AppleScript. So, when you get the urge and have the time to delve in, you
will be able to do it, given that steep learning curve. *Almost* everything
that could be done in Word VBA can be done in Word AppleScript.
