If I remember well, the system keep track of the dialog status last time it was closed.


Assuming that you closed on a wide screen connected to a Macbook, it may be drawn too large for the normal macBook's display.
Try to move it to the left (clicking near the top)
Then use the size box to reduce its width.
Maybe you will have to do that twice to be back to the standard width.
