Hi,
I want to get the serial number of the iPod that is connected. The
only way I can find of doing it is to select the iPod in iTunes and
then do a "copy" which puts the serial number on the clipboard. I
then read the clipboard to get the serial number.
Can this be done another way? If not. again, how do I select the
"copy" operation via AppleScript/iTunes.
Thanks a lot
All the Best
Dave

I select "Copy" for "iTunes" ?
Most applications (including iTunes) don't provide a 'copy' command
in their dictionaries, which means you have to resort to GUI
Scripting (which is a fragile and ugly hack) in order to mimic it.
However, the real question is: what is it you're trying to achieve?
Chances are, whatever it is you're wanting to do can be done a
different and/or better way, but you'll have to provide more
information if you want specific advice.
