I think the point that the other poster made was:

Change your TID before *you* use it, and you won't ever have that problem,
no matter what another person was doing in their script.  Let their handler
break, not yours.

TIDs are a totally changeable variable, and not to be relied on as being any
"default", and so I agree that one should make sure they change it...then
set it back to whatever it was (you don't even have to know...just capture
it, change it, use it, restore it).

Anyway. <shrug>
