Move across volumes?

Never mind from AS, but even in the Finder UI, is there a one-step way
to move files between volumes, instead of the two-step sequence of
copying and then deleting the originals?

I thought there might be some key combination you could hold down
while dragging.. I see that right-drag hasn't made it to the Mac
yet...

I know that such an operation is not supported in the file manager
API, but I thought the Finder might provide the functionality, similar
to the way mv(1) will do it from the command line even though it's not
supported by rename(2)...
