TID is global for a session. That is if you set it, you have to
restart SE to get back the default TID.

Editor is no longer involved.
Uses the default ASTID. (just tested)
Does this mean that I don't have to worry about resetting the TIDS to
default in applications?
I follow the practice of setting the TIDS just before use
and doing nothing with the TIDS after use.
I don't restore the previous or default value.
