I am trying to assist my Mac Admin in getting some scripts to run at login. I am curious if Apple Scripts can be used for this purpose. If they can can any of you point me in the direction of a good tutorial on how to use them.

You can't run scripts at startup, but you can run applications. So ... Save your script as an application, then Go to System Preferences/Accounts/Login Items and Add your application to the list.
