I wrote some stuff using sips under Leopard and it worked fine. I can't say
I tested sips extensively, but it did what I asked.
History suggests that the chance of a command-line utility shipping full of
bugs is a lot lower than something designed for scripters.
I have used sips without any problem under Leopard.
