A brief note for those interested in Ruby and scripting on a Mac...

I've written a series of short tutorials if you would like to try your
hand with Ruby as an alternative to AppleScript.
The tips walk through the basics of working with rb-appscript, a Ruby
scripting bridge to Apple Events.
