When I run the following script on my Mac,
tell application "Finder" to set posixHome to POSIX path of (home

I get:
"/Users/jk/"
And about a dozen other people around the world have used this
script and gotten the same result.
However, according to one user, who fortunately was smart enough to
troubleshoot it, the above script does not give him a trailing
slash. He apparently gets:
"/Users/wagner"
OK, so I'll add a line to check for the slash. But why might this
happen? His System Profile looks like that of a regular MacBook Pro
to me:
Model Name: MacBook Pro 15"
Model Identifier: MacBookPro2,2
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo
Processor Speed: 2.33 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache: 4 MB
Memory: 3 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
Boot ROM Version: MBP22.00A5.B07
SMC Version: 1.12f5
Sudden Motion Sensor:
State: Enabled
System Version: Mac OS X 10.5.5 (9F33)
Kernel Version: Darwin 9.5.0
Time since boot: 2:22
Thank you,

Jerry,
I saw you got a way around this problem.
But as a matter of curiosity, what happens if he uses:
path to "cusr" -- Current USeR
?
