Here, with Leopard, a quick experiment leads to the following ordering for characters 32 to 127:

The Finder's sort by name in list view are different for Tiger and Leopard.
In Leopard, numbered folders sorted by name having the order ...


	1,2,3,10,20,30

have this order in Tiger ...

	1,10,2,20,3,30

But I don't know if this has anything to do with this problem.
