Then you have to assume that "16" was also a typo for "15", and "21"
was accidentally left out entirely . . .

I don't know what the "and so on" is meant to imply, but I don't see
an easy way to interpret that list as a rule-based progression; I took
it as a list of arbitrary indices, and as such would use Michael's
reply.
