In Tiger it was a big improvement when I could say

tell application "Excel"

instead of the full name "Microsoft Excel" as long as the app was running.
Now I find in Leopard that this doesn't work: I'm back to having to use the
full name again. Is this one of those cases of one step forward, one step
back? m.
