Option-click in the "URL bar" doesn't do anything here but change the cursor
to a cross (as option key does on its own) and click. No downloading of file
nor option to select anything in a menu to do same. Nothing.

This is in Safari 4.0.3 in Mac OS 10.5.8.

Is the technique you're referring to something new in OS 10.6? Or some
setting somewhere?
